Fall 2008 Registration
 
To complete your registration you must: 
  • Complete your registration online. Any family that has not registered online will not receive any email correspondence from CFC.
  • All new players must provide the club with a legal copy of their birth certificate.
  • Registration will remain open until Wednesday, August 6 2008
  • Fee: $175 and includes 2 CFC game day / training t-shirts!

Fall 2008 General Information
The emphasis in our program is teaching the correct fundamentals of the game in a fun and safe environment at an affordable fee. Our goal is that each player falls in love with this beautiful game and at the same time reaps the benefits of exercise and healthy athletic interaction.

 

Our Club offers soccer programs for boys and girls from ages 5 – 18 yrs old. Developmental players, ages 7 - 12, will be placed in age and gender appropriate teams. Developmental teams practice twice a week and play games on a Saturday. We focus on individual growth and place very little emphasis on game results.

 

At this early stage in their soccer life, learning how to control and move with the ball at ease is far more important than winning or losing a game. It’s more about each player getting as many “touches” on the ball as possible and in so doing becoming more confident and balanced with the ball. We look forward to this potentially long term relationship. Some key information and questions follow:

The CFC Developmental Program will kick off the season with a Preseason team camp that will be held August 11-14.

When does the season start: Official training will begin the week of August 18, 2008!

When do the league games begin:  League games begin Saturday, September 6th, 2008.

Where are the league games played: Carolina FC participates in the CESA Recreation League. League games are played at the MESA Soccer Complex in Greenville/Greer - 1020 Anderson ridge Rd, Greer, SC, 29651.

When are the league games played: Games are played on Saturdays, morning and/or afternoon.

How many games are played: Each team will play a minimum of 8 league games. Max 10 games.

When does the season end: League games will end the weekend of November 8th, 2008.

Where do CFC Teams Train:  Carolina FC teams train @ the CFC Soccer Complex.

When is Training: CFC Developmental Teams train 2 times per week on Tuesday and Thursday at the CFC Soccer Complex. U8 Boys & Girls (5-6pm), U10 Boys & Girls (5-6pm), U12 Boys (6-7pm)

What are the fees: The fees are $175 per player for the season. This includes 2 game/training T-shirts, all league registration and referee fees and a season medal or award.

How do I register: All registration is done thru our online registration system, click online registration button on the home page.

Who will be my coach: CFC is fortunate and we appreciate all the effort, dedication and enthusiasm of our volunteer coaches. All our volunteer coaches must apply for the position of team head coach. Our Director of Coaching along with the Developmental Director of Coaching will accept all applications. All coaches will receive training at the beginning of each season and receive continued education as to the training methods and philosophy of the club.  Each coach will follow a pre-determined "fundamental building" curriculum throughout the season.

Uniforms: Each player will have 2 game/training T-shirts. Players can wear black shorts and white socks. All players must wear soccer shin pads to practice and games. Shin pads are to be worn under the socks please. Each player needs a ball at every practice.

What happens with bad weather: Practice days - All parents will be notified thru email, our website (decision posted by 3pm), and or thru a team phone tree. We will not practice in bad weather. Game Days - Check the CESA website (www.carolinaelitesc.com ) or hotline (tel: 864.288.0980) after 7.30am on game day. Also parents will be notified thru the team phone tree.

1st Annual Developmental Program Preseason Mini-Camp

August 11 - 14
New!!
 The Developmental Program will have a preseason mini-camp from August 11 - August 14, 2008. Daily sessions will last 1 hour and all sessions will be conducted by CFC Program Directors or members of CFC’s Academy or Select Staff.

This camp is for any player between 6 - 12yrs, especially for our DP team players. This is a great way to kick off the season on the right foot. New players will experience the CFC coaching style and methods and meet some of our Select and Academy coaching staff. The camp is focused like allways, on the correct techniques for the developing player. WE hope to see all our DP players attend this camp.

Monday - 1000 touch warm-up, dribbling techniques, 1v1, small sided game
Tuesday - 1000 touch warmp-up, passing and support play, 3v1, small sided game
Wednesday - 1000 touch warm-up, shooting definitions and crossing, small sided game
Thursday - 1000 touch warmp-up, Small sided games

Goal Keeper and Technical Sesions

CFC offers a free extra Goal Keeper Session and an extra technical session to all DP players once per week for the duration of the season. The extra session will begin the week of August 25th.

Technical Sessions - Offered on Mondays from 6.15pm - 7.15pm. The Developmental Director will run these sessions. These sessions will focus on an appropriate technical topic. Session will start with a technical warm up, possible "speed, agility and co-ordination" drills, topic focus, 1 v 1 or 2 v 2 drills using topic. Ex. The difference between the terms "finishing" and "shooting" and how to perform this important skill. Technical Topic schedule TBD.

Goal Keeper Sessions - Offered once per week by one of our GK coaches - Time and day TBD. These sessions are to introduce the fundamentals of goal keeping: what are the rules and basics needed to be a GK in the DP league. Schedule TBD

2008-2009 Age Group Matrix

A player’s age group is determined by his/her age on August 1 of a given year using the chart below.

U8 - born between 08/1/00 and 7/31/02
U10 - born between 8/1/98 and 7/31/00
U12 - born between 8/1/96 and 7/31/98
